I'm pretty sure this is someone giving someone else chores via the USPS. This is the only postcard I've found so far like this but I think it's so fun. I can imagine some mom remembering she meant to tell her kid to do a thing and, instead of paying a lot to make a phone call (if they had a phone, not guaranteed for the time), she sent it via mail. I imagine telegram would have been more expensive as well.
The handwriting is a bit hard to distinguish on the "with love" line, so please forgive me for my translation.
I wonder what it was like to get a this postcard in the mail. Was this the sort of message one could expect from their mom? Or was this mom particularly inclined to send postcards and chore reminders?
Maybe it's how she showed love: "I'm thinking of you, but also go do this thing, love mom."
I hope they did their chores.
