Love, you think this card would been appropriate for me to send you about a month ago? I haven't seen Ethel's photos yet, had a jolly time at a social last Fri. night. Had my fortune told. News are as scarce as her teeth around here. Waxalultuterar.

First, I am suspecting and hoping "Waxalultuterar" means something like "talk at you later" because wow is that a fun word. I suggest we all start using it because it's three characters shorter than the latter.

This story this postcard tells is so lovely. It seems to be from someone who just started courting Ms. Sabina Bowyer recently. Since postcards are character limited, it feels a little like a text message in the days of character limits and roaming. But because of that, it is fun to see what they chose to prioritize telling Sabina about. I personally am curious about what their fortune was. Hopefully it was a good one.

The phrase "news are as scarce as her teeth" is incredibly evocative as well. Maybe that lack of news made this person yearn for word from Ms. Sabina. I hope she wrote back.
