I feel Ida and I would have been friends. What a thing to send someone in the mail, but it's nice that she thought her friend would enjoy the sight. I really admire her spunkiness. Imagine going down a copper mine in an electric elevator in the 1920's.

I think I'd scream too.

I'm wondering if the use of underscores is a holdover from telegraph messages.
